The 'Song of the Lioness' Quartet :
Originally intended to be a 'saga' length novel for adults, Tamora Pierce re-wrote the Song of the Lioness into 4 shorter novels for teenagers. They are set in the world of Tortall, where the magically Gifted are commonplace and one determinded young girl wants to become a Lady Knight, like those in the history books. After a sneaky swap with her brother Thom - who would rather study magic than become a knight anyways - Alanna of Trebond trains to be a knight at the palace. Throughout her adventures, both in and out of schooling, Alanna meets the charming and mischevious King of Rogues, George Cooper, the lovable and rather unkempt scholar Sir Myles of Olau, sharp-minded Gareth 'Gary' of Naxen, gentle (unless really riled) giant Raoul of Goldenlake, Princess Thayet of Sarain the beautiful and intelligent daught of the 'most beautiful woman in the world' and of course, Prince Johnathan of Conte, heir to the throne of Tortall and "Alan's" best friend. The prince is also the first to discover Alanna's true identity.
The books showcase an intelligent, stubborn and short-tempered young girl transform into a quick-thinking, slightly-less-stubborn and no less intelligent woman. Alanna has to come to terms with being a female (which she gradually warms to), being the favoured one of a goddess, her own magic, and to learn to control her temper and stubborness, which are the main cause for her troubles during her eight years of training.
What is a Fanlisting?
A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject.
