 Think Positive
Think Positive: BtVS 1.01 - Welcome to the Hellmouth
The first fanlisting I ever applied for, and my second ever fanlisting, just happened to be the one for the episode that introduced me to the wonders of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Buffy Summers is just a girl who wants to make it through the rest of high school without getting expelled, after she burnt down the gymnasium of her old high school. It was full of asbestos (vampires). Unfortunately, in her opinion, she discovers that the librarian at her new school is also the new Watcher.

Signs: BtVS 1.12 - Prophecy Girl
Just before her junior prom Buffy overhears Giles and Angel discussing the fact that she is prophesised to die at the hands of the Master on Prom Night. Overcome, Buffy confronts both of them and quits as a Slayer. To her surprise she discovers her mother has brough her a beautiful prom dress and encourages her to attend. Dressed in her pretty white dress she confronts the Master and he fights and defeats her, causing her to drown. Xander convinces Angel that BUffy has gone after the Master by herself and they to go rescue her/give back up. Xander revives Buffy with CPR and she goes on the defeat the Master, throwing him through the windows in the roof of the school library and impaling him on a large piece of wood.

Xander's anger only grows the next day when the entire school laughs at him for being dumped on Valentine's Day. Having discovered the day before that Amy Maddison is dabbling in witchcraft he asks her to cast a love spell for him. Unfortunatley the spell backfires and every teenage girl and woman in Sunnydale except for Cordelia want Xander to be theirs, even Drusilla. It's not only Buffy's Prom that is not going to plan, when Hellhounds attack people trying on formalwear at the store where Cordy is working. Our broken-hearted Slayer vows to save Prom, even if she has to 'kill everybody on the planet' to do so. Prom Night comes, Buffy kills the hounds and kicks the butt of the guy who planned to unleash them. She gets herself prettied up and goes to join her friends at the Prom. Buffy is surprised, and touched, when she is awarded a special award by her entire senior class - The Class Protector. Entropy... and stuff
Entropy... and stuff: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 5
This was probably the game-changer season of Buffy. As there was no certainty that it would get picked up again, they needed a convincing series end. What better end than to kill off the titular character. In a moment of self-sacrifice and an effort to save her little sister, Buffy runs off a platform into a portal meant to end the world. After having to deal with her mother's brain tumour and death, the fact that her sister is a great big ball of light and energy known as 'The Key' and sent to her in human form to be protected, and trying and failing (a few times) to kick the ass of Hellgoddess Glorificus (or Glory), Buffy had been dealt more than her fair share of bad cards this season. It was a wishlister of mine and I am so glad Gracelyn chose to adopt it to me.

Santana blackmails Karofsky into starting an anti-bullying club, and convinces him to be her 'beard' in exchange for her doing the same for him.

Ladies Choice: Hairspray: Link Larkin
Link is the hottest, hippest boy on the 'Corny Collins' show. He sings and dances his way in the the dreams of many a girl, including girlfriend, and the show's reigning princess, Amber von Tussle. He becomes smitten with a girl with a huge heart, Tracy Turnblad, much to Amber's dismay. After a whirlwind of events, Link dances his way into history, and re-affirms the old saying, "Never judge a book by it's cover."

 Songs About Rainbows
Songs About Rainbows: Henson, Jim: Rainbow Connection (Muppet Movie, The)
Why are there so many songs about rainbows? I don't know Kermit, but this one is a favourite of mine. I remember hearing this song when I was little and watching Kermit sing in the Muppets movie.

 Vampires & Faeries
Vampires & Faeries: Laurell K Hamilton
As soon as I read Cerulean Sins by Laurell K. Hamilton I was hooked. LKH, as she is often known, is the author of the sexy and scary Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series and the magic and macabre Merry Gentry series. She has also written a few other novels and a collection of short stories as well.

 The Final Insult
The Final Insult: Robb. J.D. (Nora Roberts writing as): 'in Death' series
The long-running (33 books so far) future-set crime series by romance author NOra Roberts, under the psuenodyum of J.D. Robb. The J.D. is taken from the author's sons first names. The series started in 1995 and is still continuing.

 As Worthy As A Man
As Worthy As A Man: Song of the Lioness quartet (Tamora Pierce)
These books were my first foray into medieval fantasy. I've lost count of how many times I have read them. The stories feature Alanna of Trebond (and later of Olau and Pirate's Swoop) who is a smart and tough young lady who dreams of being a knight. After cooking up a plan with her twin brother, she's the one who winds up at knight school whilst he goes of to train to be a mage. Alanna faces many trials throughout her years as a page and squire, and makes many friends, including Prince Jonathan. After earning her knighthood, she is eventually discovered by the one person who absolutley despises her for no reason - Duke Roger. After this she leaves the palace for some time, and spends time with the desert-dewelling tribesman, the Bazihr. She picks up a few magic students, and helps the tribe change a few of their long held views for the better. After a few more adventures, including a man-killing blizzard, she returns home.
